PONTON EVENT
PONTON Conference 2026 on September 10/11, 2026
Dear colleagues in the energy industry,
we are excited to announce the upcoming edition of our PONTON Conference, once again held in the Open Space format. We believe that each of our clients, partners, and stakeholders have unique insights worth sharing and look forward to discussing the latest developments and innovative ideas in the energy industry.
To kick off the conference on Thursday, 10 September 2026, three long-term industry partners will share their decades of joint experience with us and for the energy industry.
We will hold Open Space sessions in the afternoon, allowing you and your colleagues to shape the program. Last year, we saw spontaneous collaboration between grid operators, traders, and energy suppliers, leading to inspiring discussions across the normally separate domains in our industry.
In the evening of the conference day, we invite you to enjoy dinner and a social event celebrating 25 years of PONTON with a scenic view of the Elbe. On the following day, Friday, 11 September 2026, we will host focus workshops for different expert groups.
This invitation is for clients, partners, and friends. We are looking forward to seeing you on 10/11 September 2026. Should you have any questions, please contacts us at events@ponton.de.
With best regards from Hamburg,
Tilo and Michael

Workshop on “PPAs and how to standardize them” on Friday, September 11, 2026
Venue: PONTON GmbH, Dorotheenstraße 64, 22301 Hamburg
The energy crisis of 2020/2022 led to a substantial increase in Power Purchasing Agreements (PPAs), increasingly replacing traditional instruments in forward trading. While the growth in PPA volumes has not been steady since then, PPAs are here to stay.
Volume, complexity and variability between PPAs make deal capture, settlement, risk assessment and valuation difficult and time intensive. PPAs need simplification and standardization, followed by automation along the PPA value chain. To this end, PONTON started a pro-bono project in 2024, bringing together experts from trading, back-office operations, legal, IT, and risk management. Version 1.0 of this technical PPA standard was released during E-world 2026.
We would like to use this workshop to look at emerging use cases of the PPA standard and sketch out the future of technical standardization of PPAs. Your insights and expertise are crucial to this endeavour. We look forward to your participation.
